I've always been an optimist, believing the best about people in general and about the future of humanity. I grew up watching Star Trek and I just thought that's how the world was when I was young. Now I see that it isn't, and that was just an ideal. I'm not ready to give up on my ideals even though I feel the gap is widening now (at an increasingly alarming rate). I still hope that humanity can overcome racism, poverty, disease, and climate change and move towards a sustainable future.
In this blog, I want to set forth a vision of the world how I wish it could be, and maybe highlight some of the things blocking us.
Also, I was shocked when the U.S. re-elected Donald Trump as President, and I'm still trying to understand why we, as a nation, did that.
